Free Typing Speed Test – Check WPM & Accuracy

A typing speed of 40 WPM (words per minute) is considered average. 60–70 WPM is good, and anything above 80 WPM is excellent. Professional data entry positions typically require 60+ WPM.

WPM is calculated by dividing the total number of correctly typed characters by 5 (the average word length), then dividing by the time in minutes. Gross WPM counts all keystrokes; net WPM subtracts errors.
